Just finished planning a round trip that starts in NYC then goes to Washington D.C. and Chicago with first class accommodations and private sleeping rooms the whole way for <$1100.
No security lines, complimentary food and booze, private waiting lounges at each station and no cramped seating.

Sounds good, how long does it take to make a trip like that? Rail is definitely something this country needs some more exposure with, due to a lot of frustrations with airlines, and car and bus trips are really only good (in my opinion, others may differ) for in-state travel, or maybe a couple of states' worth in case they're small (Texas takes QUITE a bit of time to get from one side to the other, for instance!). Oh, and take quite a few pics and report back if you can too
